Understanding Encore RV’s Electrical System Packages

Not every camper needs the same amount of power. Whether you prefer campground hookups or off-grid adventures, Encore RV offers electrical system packages designed to match your camping style.

Every Encore trailer starts with a capable standard electrical system, with optional upgrades that add lithium battery storage, solar charging, and additional power capabilities.

In this blog, we’re breaking down the differences between Encore’s three electrical system options:

  • Standard Electrical System
  • Power Up Package
  • Power+Plus Package

Let’s explore what each package includes and how to choose the right one for your adventures.

Built to Grow: Encore's Expandable RV Electrical Systems

Encore’s electrical systems are designed with flexibility in mind. Every trailer starts with a capable foundation, while optional packages add greater battery storage, charging capability, system monitoring, and appliance power.

This modular approach gives owners the freedom to choose the electrical capabilities they need now, with opportunities to expand the electrical capabilities of their RŎG, VENŪ, or REVUE trailer in the future.

Standard RV Electrical System: The Foundation

Every Encore trailer includes a strong electrical foundation designed to support future upgrades.

Standard Electrical Features:

  • Victron 12-amp DC-to-DC charger: Charges the trailer batteries while towing through the 7-way connection.
  • 50-amp MPPT solar controller: Maximizes energy harvested from solar panels.
  • Rooftop solar prep with MC4 connectors: Allows rooftop solar panels to be added easily.
  • Exterior side solar prep with 50-amp Anderson connector: Enables portable solar panels to connect directly to the trailer.
  • Single battery tray: Supports the starting battery configuration.
  • Electrical distribution panel: Manages and protects the trailer’s 12-volt circuits.
  • 70-amp converter with lithium auto-detect: Charges the battery bank when connected to shore power.
  • Inverter Prep: Allows a 120-volt inverter to be installed easily in the future.

Encore RV’s Standard Electrical System ensures the trailer is ready for electrical expansion at any time. It supports battery charging while towing, shore power charging at campgrounds, future solar system upgrades, and future inverter installation.

Power Up Package: More Power for Off-Grid Camping

The Power Up Package adds the core components needed for extended off-grid capability.

Power Up Package Features:

  • Victron Bluetooth SmartShunt: Accurate battery monitoring through a smartphone app.
  • (1) 100Ah lithium battery with built-in heater: Reliable energy storage with cold-weather charging capability.
  • 200-watt roof-mounted monocrystalline solar panel: Generates power while camping off-grid.
  • Waterproof 120-amp Anderson connector: Enables high-capacity charging from the tow vehicle.
  • Custom battery tray: Designed to hold up to four batteries for future expansion.

With the Power Up Package installed, the trailer can charge from the tow vehicle in two ways:

  • 12 amps through the standard 7-way connection
  • Up to 50 amps through the additional DC-to-DC charging system

With the Power Up Package installed, the trailer can charge from the tow vehicle using both the standard 7-way connection at 12 amps and the additional DC-to-DC charging system at up to 50 amps.

Combined, these systems provide up to approximately 62 amps of charging power while towing, allowing the batteries to recharge much faster during travel. The additional DC-to-DC charger also includes Bluetooth control, allowing the charging current to be adjusted if needed to match the electrical capacity of a specific tow vehicle.

Why Choose the Power Up Package?

The Power Up Package adds the essential tools for off-grid camping, including:

  • Expandable battery capacity

Power+Plus Package: Maximum Off-Grid Power

The Power+Plus Package builds on the Power Up Package and adds the ability to power household appliances directly from the battery bank.

Power+Plus Package Features:

  • 3000-watt inverter with automatic transfer relay: Allows household outlets to operate from battery power.
  • Three additional 100Ah lithium batteries: Expands the battery bank to four batteries total (400Ah capacity).
  • Additional 200-watt rooftop solar panel: Increases total solar capacity to 400 watts.
  • Locking slide-out solar panel tray (ROG models): Allows additional solar expansion when needed.

Encore RV’s Power+Plus Package delivers the highest level of off-grid capability available in Encore trailers. The key benefits include a large 400Ah lithium battery bank, increased solar charging capacity, the bility to run household appliances from the inverter, and extended off-grid runtime.

Because Encore trailers use a highly efficient Eberspächer air conditioner with heat pump, the 3000-watt inverter can even operate the air conditioner for limited periods when shore power is not available.

This allows owners to cool the trailer before going to bed while camping off-grid. As with any battery-powered system, runtime depends on battery capacity and energy usage, so inverter-powered air conditioning is typically used for short-term comfort rather than continuous overnight operation.

Which Encore RV Electrical Package Is Right for You?

Encore’ RVs electrical system packages allow customers to choose the level of power capability that fits their camping style.

  • Standard Electrical System: Provides a strong electrical foundation with built-in upgrade capability.
  • Power Up Package: Adds lithium batteries, solar charging, battery monitoring, and high-capacity charging while towing.
  • Power+Plus Package: Adds expanded battery capacity, additional solar, and the ability to power 120-volt appliances—including short-term air conditioning—from the battery bank.

This scalable approach allows Encore owners to start with a capable electrical system and expand their off-grid capability as their adventures grow.
